Simran Sekhon

As a South Asian woman, I offer valuable insights into fostering cultural inclusivity. My lived experience and growing up in a multicultural society, has given me a unique ability to see cultures from a different viewpoint; both the importance of beliefs & values that come from our cultures, whilst also recognizing the internal conflicts they can cause us as individuals. I sit with clients to meet their diverse needs within the community.

I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. I focus on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches to work with trauma and other mental health concerns. Additionally, I am trained in DBT and currently training in Gottman Levels 1 and 2.

Embarking on the therapeutic journey requires courage and marks a pivotal moment in one's life. I create a secure, inviting, and non-judgmental environment for my clients. My services are available in both English and Punjabi. The process of healing from trauma and prioritizing mental well-being is continuous, and it would be an honour to work with you and be a part of your healing journey.

Outside of the therapeutic space, I find joy in reading, cooking, playing soccer and spending time with family and friends.
